Tips on Lingering Shingles Pain
Lingering shingles pain is a common complication of shingles. The pain continues even
after the shingle rash has disappeared. To understand it better, let us talk about shingles.
So what is it? Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash. It can occur anywhere
on the body. However, it often appears as a stripe of blisters that wraps around the left or
right side of the torso. Now. shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It is the same
virus that causes chickenpox. When you get healed from shingles or chickenpox, the virus
stays dormant until the immune system weakens. Then, they attack the dermatome nerves
in your back. Thus causing the pain.

Tongue Colours and Your Health
This is a good question. However, I am sure if there is a point you can press for white
coated tongue. On the other hand, your tongue is a reflection of your digestive system in
Chinese medicine. The thickness of the coat, colour and texture of the tongue tells a lot
about your gut health. For instance, a yellow coated tongue means there is an imbalance
of bacteria in your gut. A red tip tongue may indicate insomnia. Similarly, a scallop tongue
with teeth marks may be linked to thyroid or hormonal issue. A tongue may even turn into
purple, gray, blue, green or orange. And all of these colours correspond into a certain health
condition.

also be a result from traumatic injuries and infections. As well as metabolic problems,
inherited causes and exposure to toxins.
Another cause of nerve pain is an underlying disease. One of the most common is

How Many Acupuncture Visit for Vertigo Treatment?
How many acupuncture visits for vertigo treatment and how long each session lasts?
Generally in our clinic we usually suggest a short course of treatments anywhere from
3 to 6 treatments to test for two reasons. One is to determine whether your body
responds to acupuncture and second is to let us know how many treatments does it take
for the vertigo to go. See your local acupuncturist to know more about your options.

Is Acupuncture a Temporary Relief?
Is acupuncture a temporary relief? Well no. It is not. In Biomedicine and when you are
taking pharmaceuticals you are dependent on pills. The moment you stop taking them,
the symptoms will come back. However, with acupuncture therapy, it re-trains your
brain to restore blood flow to affected areas allowing the body to heal itself. As
acupuncture treatments progresses you will experience longer relief until the ailment
resolves itself. Some of my patients come in for maintenance like once a month but that
is completely up to you.
