Nail Colours Are Good Indicator of Your Health

Did you know the colour of your fingernails reveals clues to your overall health? Yes,
you read it right. in fact, nail colours reflect any medical condition you might have. For
example, a touch of white, a rosy tinge, or even bumps on the surface of your nails
can be a sign of disease!

On the other hand, healthy fingernails have a pinkish or mauve hue and are evenly
coloured. Hence, the discoloration of the nails can signify various health problems.
This is why it is important to pay attention to any abnormal signs on your fingernails
and toenails. Additionally, anything that does not look normal should be addressed

Yellow – yellow nails may be due to lymphedema. It is a buildup of lymphatic fluid in

Blue – the blue hue in the nails can be a result of taking minocycline, an antibiotic.
Oral medications can also turn the nail colour into blue.

Black – severe infection or bruising are oftentimes the most common reason for
getting a black nail. However, melanoma can also be the cause. You better see a
dermatologist if you are exhibiting a black nail.
